The parade starts at Santa Ventia Park runs in infront of the school and then into the school.

The parade is in conjuction with lessons taught in local schools primarily at Veterans Elementary School.

The Veterans Museum and Memorial Center hosts the annual “Veteran of the Year” Luncheon at the Scottish Rites Temple on Camino del Rio South.  The Veterans Community selects one Veteran as the San Diego County Veteran of the Year.  Also selected are the Non-profit and For-profit Organization of the Year.  These organizations are selected on their work to support Veterans.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2111 Chula Vista hosts an annual “Veterans Walk.”  The walk starts at the California Veterans Home Chula Vista and ends at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2111.  Funds raised from this event go to improve the quality of life for the residents at the Veterans Home. The Veterans Museum and Memorial Center in Balboa Park will host the welcoming reception for Mr. Sinh Nguyen, a Vietnamese-American Army Veteran who has walked across
the nation in a solo mission called, "Shore to Shore: Honoring Those Who Serve".

Naturalization Ceremony for Active Duty Personnel on board the USS Midway Museum

11 a.m.

Veterans Day Parade.  Come one, come all. Downtown San Diego

Noon to 3 pm

Cal-Diego Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) will host an event at the stern of the Midway Museum next to Harbor Drive.  Cars and music will be featured.

2 p.m.

Veterans Museum and Memorial Center Open House.  2115 Park Blvd., San Diego, CA 92101-4792

3 p.m.

Veterans Day Ceremony, unveiling of F4U Corsair, onboard the USS Midway Museum. The Midway Museum will donate $1 of each ticket sold on 'Veterans Day’ to the Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD).  Free Admission for Veterans all day to the Midway Museum.  

14 November

‘Honor-A-Hero, Hire-A-Vet’ Job & Resource Fair, Double Tree Hotel, 7450 Hazard Center Drive, San Diego.  Hosted by EDD.

Military Members can receive up to 4 free tickets for themselves and their dependants (discounted tickets after your four free) each year.

Knott’s Berry Farm

Show your military ID and receive adult tickets for 29.99 a savings of $20 and kids (age 3-11) for 19.99 (that is regular price).  Also in November (first 2 weeks or so) Knott’s will let one military member and guest in for free and extra tickets are discounted.

San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park

The zoo and wild animal park are free to active duty military all the time.

USS Midway Tour

Tour the USS Midway (a great piece of WWII history) for free with your Military ID.

Deep Sea Fishing

Deep sea fishing is available in San Diego and Oceanside and offer great rates for military members sometimes up to half off.

MWR Ticket & ITT Offices

(Note: these offices are for active duty personnel, their family members and others that work on the military bases.) MWR Ticket & ITT Offices at Naval Bases San Diego (32nd Street Naval Station), Coronado (NASNI & NAB) Point Loma (Subase), Camp Pendleton, Miramar, and MCRD offer great rates on tickets to many of the other attractions throughout the area.

Lowe's and Home Depot

Lowe's and Home Depot typically have offered a 10% to veterans and active duty the last several years. We have verified Lowe's for this year.

UNO Chicago Grill
